We at La Carla Mask Atelier are an artistic family team who craft exquisite custom designed masquerade masks, headpieces, costumes and accessories. Since 2007, we have been transforming small and large business events, weddings, yacht celebrations and private parties into unforgettable experiences. From South Africa we have exported to Europe, the USA, Brazil, and many African countries. In 2024 we opened our second studio, in Spain.

As our client you will be dealing directly with us, the founders/artists: Carla Engelbrecht (South Africa) and Charnelle Beresford-Carter (Spain). By personally consulting with you during the whole creative process, we ensure that each wearable art piece is meticulously finished with your style, theme, colour, and preferences in mind.

Our papier-mâché masks are so lightweight and comfortable that you will forget you are wearing them. We do not make silicon or metal party masks.

We believe in the power of art to evoke emotions, tell stories and create connections. While we certainly can supply masks and accessories of our own design, we most enjoy providing a canvas for our clients’ self-expression, to showcase distinct aspects of their personality, style and brand.
